Want to live on a farm rent free??
We are an aging couple on a hobby farm and are overwhelmed with the amount of work at the moment.
We are offering a small trailer to live in for free and in turn, you help us with the farm.
We are looking for two people to live together on site, who are self-motivated, hard workers and enjoy the outdoors.
The perks: lower cost of living, 60 acres to hike and explore, getting away from the bustle of city life, swimming in the pool, bonfires, explore your homesteading skills, woodworking, gardening. Heck, you could build a cabin and live off-grid!
The downside: We need 20 hours a week of work per person. Chores would include maintaining the inground pool, cutting grass, gardening, cleaning stalls, and various outdoor tidying, hauling wood, help building a barn, plant a couple of trees, etc.
If you want to try your hand at farming, you are able to plant a garden, maybe even have some animals if you want. We have ducks and chickens at the moment (as well as three dogs and many cats), but previously had pigs, cows, goats, sheep and turkeys.
While I know this is certainly not for everyone (some people’s nightmare), I think this could be a nice fit for the right people.
