I paid $500 and moved into a room-rental place at the beginning of March with a so-called friend and his girlfriend (although admittedly he was a relatively “new” friend - maybe partly my bad.)
They didn’t insist on first and last, even though I had it and offered it
Four days into living there the so-called friend claimed that he saw a crack or meth pipe in one of my bags when he helped me carry the bags to my room four days earlier, and that he had called the police. I said, “I have never touched a crack or meth pipe of any kind in my entire life, and if there was one in my bag, it would have HIS fingerprints, not mine.”
He insisted that I leave, which I did, after waiting for the police for 1.5 hours.
The police never showed up, but for him to lie like that, I said that I would leave and they could pay me back $400 of the $500.
I couldn’t find another room to rent, so I went into a motel and blew about $1200 in a little over two weeks. Just today and for the fifth time the so-called friend agreed to pay me back $400 tomorrow (Sat 21).
As of 11 AM Saturday morning, March 21, I will be homeless and be forced to sleep in a tent or somewhere else.
I am on ODSP and will be receiving $1,520 on March 31, and it will be enough to pay for first and last.
But the weather is gonna be pretty crappy between now and March 31.
If anybody can help out in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a tent, but I would prefer to park it in a private yard, if possible.
