You will require Your Own Reliable Transportation, as we reside in the country, about 10 minutes west of Carleton Place. We are offering a reduced rent in exchange for some assistance with basic domestic cleaning, shopping and property maintenance tasks, such as grass cutting and snow removal. Handyman and practical skills with an “Off the Grid” philosophy, are considered strong assets. Plenty of land is available for a large garden to grow your own food if interested. We have a renovated and fairly spacious Basement Suite, about 10ft. X 22ft with high ceilings, to serve as your primary living quarters. The large room is brightly lit and has 3 medium sized windows with blinds. There is a newly installed private washroom equipped with a shower, toilet and a large sink. Shared access to barbecue facilities, outdoor patios and decks with a large dog enclosure. Also a pool table for recreation in the basement. There is a side entrance available from the driveway through to the basement. Plenty of Free Parking.

Currently furnished with a Queen Sized Bed, End Tables with several Drawers, a large Computer Desk and a Smart TV, Clothing Dresser, Leather Love Seat, Coffee Table and Food Storage Cupboards. There is laminate flooring throughout the room which is cool and comfortable in the summer months. A large Clothes Closet is also available in the basement for your usage. The residence has a wood burning stove upstairs, a Water Treatment System, and a newer Gas Furnace with Central Air Conditioning as well. In addition, we also have a Wood Pellet Stove in the basement near the rental room, for additional heating in the fall and winter. Equipped with a Stove, Fridge and a dining table, as well as an island table for folding laundry or preparing your meals. Laundry facilities are shared by the household.

This is a secure environment and your privacy is assured and mutually expected. Note: we are seeking organized and tidy individuals who are dependable and respectful. “Non-smokers are preferred” or be “willing to restrict smoking to outside only”. We are “Pet Friendly” and have 2 dogs and cats of our own, and welcome other pets that are well trained and socialized. You must have a dependable income and should be able to provide a few contact references.
