2 Bedroom upper floor of triplex, duplex or house

LARGE older style apartment (1960's or older) with a yard on quiet street and close to public transit. I have lived in my present space for 16 years and have always paid my rent on time. The address is 228 Connaught St. unit 3 in Kitchener. The building sold, and the new owners are moving their entire family into the triplex. I LOVE my apartment and have created a beautiful space. I've added french doors and a beautiful chandelier in front room. My front room is 25' by 12'. I need this space for my studio. I HATE that I have to leave it. My present rent is $960 per month including heat and water. This SHOULD be the normal rent for a 2 bedroom but since the covid BS, rent has doubled. There's no reason for it what so ever! I'm willing to pay slightly more but not double! I'm retired and receiving OAS but I have an online business called Class Act Caps. My adult son lives with me and works with me sewing custom caps. He's unemployed but searching for work. I'm willing to move into a place 'as is' and we can to do minor repairs if need be. That being said, I'm not moving into a unit that was owned by a slumlord.
